Meanwhile in our city under siege Houston firefighters forced to jump from a second story apartment

After being threatened by an armed man during an EMS story apartment wouldn't expect that off Bissonnette in southwest Houston.

Last night should never happen to a member of the Houston Fire Department.

A routine call for Houston firefighters took a terrifying turn Saturday. The first responders received a call for a man

reportedly having seizures. When they arrived he gave them confused

responses, went to his room, and pulled out a gun.

An individual took out a gun and pointed it at them and in fear of their life,

then moved over to the balcony and jumped off the second floor.

One of the firefighters broke his scapula,

well another received bumps and bruises.

I feel for them.

They're supposed to be serving and protecting just like the cops.

Mayor Whitmire, who has been an advocate for Houston's firefighters,

reached out to the men to check on their well-being.

I want to thank Corey Grant and Andrew Hodesburg.

They need to be singled out for the heroism last night and we celebrate that they

rescued and suffered bruises, broken collarbone but it could have been a lot

worse.

The president of the Houston Firefighters Association says the incident highlights the

dangers first responders deal with every day.
