By parents who are not trying to then run for office or coming straight out of an office

or get a contract for an engineering firm that pays them a kickback, all of which are problems that have plagued the Houston Independent School District.

Where the superintendent, Mike Miles, after the state takeover of the broken district that was

failing the children, has been doing a wonderful job.

Now, I do not condone the $968,000 convocation event they had with the skits and sketches

and whatever else seemed to have cost so much money.

I don't, but I also know that had that been the predecessor, it wouldn't have made the news.

The Houston Chronicle, along with Sheila Jackson Lee, Rodney Ellis, Sylvester Turner, and every

other elected Democrats have been running a game over there where you get contracts at Harris County,

Houston Community College, H-I-S-D, City Hall and you just move the engineering firms and consulting firms from one to the other

and they're all getting rich in the process.

So I stand behind Miles in that effort.

Houston Independent School District is failing the

children. The fact that these Democrats are getting rich off of the

the corruption is a byproduct, but the schools are failing the children.

The more parents that get involved in the school board, the more parents get involved in the PTA, the more

parents that get involved in the schools for those kids still in public schools who haven't

been homeschooled or put into private schools, the better for our country and for those kids.
