It is a thrill to have Maya Rudolph somewhere on the planet Earth talking to me right now.

As we record this, she has just gotten Emmy nomination for it,

and maybe my favorite character name ever, Connie, the hormone mistress, monstrous, forgive my

imprecision, for Big Mal. We maybe think of her as our Madam Vice President or any of the number

of characters you want to name. She's currently starring in the series Lute on Apple Plus television,

and it's her second time working with Alan Yang and his partner, Matt Hubbard,

and director Miguel Artetta.

Maya, first of all, thank you so much you're doing this.

I think it's interesting, too, because when you've worked with Alan and Miguel,

previously on Forever,

I thought I was so thinking about one of the things that you do as an actor that I really kind of love,

which is the way your characters deal with being hurt.

We can see them kind of wrestling with it and how much of it to expose,

even Dodge-Oversace or somebody or a real person that you're somebody more realistic than

that. But I think that's really interesting what you do with that kind of characterization.

Yeah, it's interesting. I feel like both shows have tackled relationship issues, which, I mean,

if we're really honest, I think all humans are thinking about

relationships to an extent, whether they're romantic or otherwise, but, you know, it's the

human experience.
