There's a lot of production and sound effects in the Sergeant York show,

so let's jump right into our interview with Nathan and Chris.

Chris and Nate, this is an exciting show.

In fact, so exciting that we've had to issue a warning on the front end of it for intensity.

A lot of that intensity came from the sound design.

Was there a discussion about how violent to make the sounds of war?

Did you have anything planned that you had to pull back for intensity?

Well, it's sort of an interesting question in the fact that

you would think that we would soften the show for younger listeners.

But rather than try and soften, I mean, we did soften the reality of war in the show.

However, we still wanted to get the point across that war was a very traumatic situation

and that it still had, you know, sounds that are associated with it, emotions that are associated with it.

And so we tried to make the sound design sort of just kind of push the limit a little bit.

We want to go too far with the sound design to demonstrate war

because I think we can all get the picture.
