Hello there, I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast.

So Democrats are debating the best way to push through their voting reform measures.

For the 50-50 Senate, that conversation very quickly becomes a debate over what to do

about the filibuster.

It becomes a process debate.

But making a major change to Senate rules has risks and outside of their base.

It's not clear that voters support this change per se.

One thing we do know though, Democrats don't have the votes in their own pockets.

So joining me today is someone who knows a little bit about the ins and outs of the Senate.

Former Senator from Montana, Max Boccus, former Chair of the Senate Finance Committee,

back when committee chairs did have a lot of influence, we can talk about whether that

should change again.

And in addition to being the longest serving Senator in Montana's history, he was also the

Ambassador to China for most of Barack Obama's second term.

So Senator Ambassador, where do I just say Max?
