Today we're going to look back at March 7, 2018, in a conversation with seven-time pro-bowler special teams ace,

Matthew Slater of the New England Patriots.

Matthew is a three-time Super Bowl champion.

Like I mentioned, seven consecutive Pro Bowls,

and the Patriots just love this guy.

Recently a couple weeks ago in, I think it was week three of the NFL in 2019,

Matthew scored his first career touchdown off a blocked punt, not surprisingly,

on a special team's play.

And this guy has been a staple with the New England Patriots, both on the field,

but even more as a staple in the locker room and with this team and the culture that

they've built now since 2008 when he was drafted in the fifth round by the Patriots.

And today we're going to look back to a conversation we have with Matthew in March of 2018.

This was an interesting time for Matthew when we caught up with him.

The Patriots had just lost the Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles,

and Matt was a free agent and didn't know if he'd be back with New England, which was, you know,

hard to imagine when he played there for so many years. But obviously, the way things turned out,

he came back to New England, and they won a Super Bowl in 2018, now a three-time Super Bowl
