Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Roto World football show. I am Patrick Darty, joined today. By a man

you may have heard of, it's not Denny Carter. It is Matthew Berry. They're so thrilled to have him,

not just at NBC and Roto World, but on today's show. You also see him on the Roto World

draft guide special coming up immediately after this. Matthew, as someone who's been in the spotlight

for literally decades now, you're used to commotion, you're used to hubbub, you used to hoopla.

But man, I would have to assume the past couple of weeks, I've had to rank right up there,

just take us through like what this has been like, you know, the transition coming back to NBC,

what a couple of weeks it's been. It's been overwhelming. It was unexpected. You know, it happened

suddenly. I had been talking with ESPN, potentially about an extension. We weren't able to come

to an agreement. We, nothing bad to say about my time there, but you know, it became clear that

it was time to sort of move on and, you know, I thanked them for their offer, but, you know,

politely said, you know, and I think it's, I think it's time. And so we parted friends as I

said to a lot of people internally, they're, hey, I'm leaving with hugs and handshakes. And so it was

great. And then they were great to me, right? I mean, they gave me last show and they released

they said about me. It was very nice as well. So very amicable parting of the ways between myself

and ESPN. And then you put it out there and you're not sure will anyone care? Like what's, you know,

like, I don't know what the reaction is. And as I said to my wife, I said, wow, this is,

this was very cool to be trending on Twitter and not be dead. Or, no, you're not be horribly wrong

about something like, or, right, or not be canceled, right? That's the thing is that I haven't done

something, you know, unspeakably awful. And so yeah, I mean, I released it. And then honestly,

the reaction from the community, from my fans, from ESPN fans, from the fantasy world,

like I couldn't have written it better myself. Unbelievably, overwhelmingly positive and thoughtful

...
