0:13.2	are like, oh, you're Matt. It's nice to meet you. I'm so and so. This is my first time
0:17.6	listening to this podcast that right now is about the Book of Matthews. This is great.
0:21.2	It's nice to be here. Others of you are like, I know your name, dude. I've been doing this
0:25.3	300 and some odd episodes. Well, hey, it's good to see you again. And for me, it's particularly
0:30.5	good to see you again, because it has been an age. I've had a bunch of company coming into town
0:35.0	and travel and stuff I've needed to do. I went and recorded a video in Salt Lake City that I'm
0:40.3	really excited about putting out on the YouTube channel. It's another one of those where I go and
0:43.5	visit a church. And so I've been on the run and I feel like we haven't sat down and talked about
0:48.8	the Bible and done this thing that we do together every day forever. So it's really good to be
0:53.9	moment around together thinking about the gospel of Matthew, thinking about the Bible and trying to
0:58.0	do it without my dumb biases getting in the way. I mean, ultimately they're gonna leak through
1:02.8	to some degree, but it's fun working on this together and trying to strip that stuff away and
1:07.2	just understand what the text says on its own merits. And we are in Matthew chapter 15 right
1:13.5	now. We're about the halfway point. I would argue we are at the thematic halfway point for sure
1:20.0	of the book of Matthew. And we just got done with a passage that when I was recording it,
1:24.2	I was like, oh, this could be a little controversial because some people might look at this
1:27.9	through 21st century lenses and be like, whoa, Jesus sounds super racist here. And I thought,
1:35.0	well, you know, I better tackle this question. I don't know that I've ever heard anybody
1:38.8	accuse Jesus of being racist, but I don't know. It'll make for a good conversation in a good way
1:44.2	to frame up the juxtaposition of Jesus' difficult exchange with this Canaanite,
1:49.8	Serio Phoenician woman where it looks like maybe he's insulting her or something because she wants
