Greetings and welcome to a Wednesday edition of the Shotgun Start. It is March 22nd. Andy, how are we doing?

Friend of him! I'm doing great. You caught my audio staff food early. We're rolling. Like I said, just a second ago, I'm kind of bittersweet.

I'm bummed. This is the last run of one of my favorite events. It's up there right with RIV, Kapalua, this tournament.

I don't foresee a spot next year on the schedule for the Corralas Puntikana.

I don't think that this opposite field event could get a spot. But real talk, I'm a very, you know, it's bittersweet.

Matchplay. Matchplay. It's the first PGA tour event I ever covered in my career.

It's an event that I went to. I think the first three years that I was credentialed. Love Austin. Love the town.

Why that one? I love Austin. And I love Matchplay.

The combination of the two was great. By all means, it sounds like it was a very successful financial gig for the tour and said to see it go.

Why are they ending it? If it was a successful financial arrangement for the tour.

Austin was trying to, Austin Country Club tried to squeeze a little bit more out of them.

No, it sounds like they were going to get an agreement. From what I've heard, this was one of the most profitable events on the tour schedule.

Which is a head scratcher. And you had, you have every single corporation like down there.

You have like all these corporations that I guess the sweet sales were through the roof. Sweet sales.

Yeah, I mean, it's it's a lot of money in that area now. So a lot of real head scratcher. Why this events going?

But I think they weren't going to do a full field event there. And they weren't going to, you know, they didn't want to do stroke play event there.

So kind of left them in with nothing to do. So the tours vacating arguably their most successful market.

What a smart smart business flat. That is not yeah.
