Well, research has found that the average 20-year-old American knows 42,000 words.

This is kind of a shocker to me because 40 years after that,

you're at 60 years old, is 48,000 words. So you only gain like 6,000 words in 40 years.

Some people, they say, actually have bigger vocabularies. I'd have to guess that. I do,

after all. They say your brain's ability to retrieve all those words

happens in an instant. One study had participants look at an image and they had selected the word

for it within 200 milliseconds. Wow, that's really fascinating. Oh, it reminds me. Here's one for the

kiddos in your family. What do you call a dinosaur with a great vocabulary?
