Summary

Winfield, Kansas was a quest, peaceful town at the turn on the 20th Century. It was right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. On the evening of August 13, 1903 the townspeople gathered near the gazebo in the city park to listen to a brass band and sip on freshly squeezed lemonade.  Those gathered there had no way of knowing they were about to witness the first mass shooting incident in our nation's history.
