This is Entertainment Writer Jim Hill and I am recording this week's episode on Sunday,

September 4th, 2022.

Now, normally I don't record this podcast as late in the week as this, more to the point

I typically record the show with my co-host, The Amazing Aaron Adams.

But back when I was in the Army, which was dear Lord, almost 40 years ago now, I was

in the service from March of 1983 through the spring of 1987.

There was this phrase that our base commander once used that absolutely loved, that this

would have been Major General Robert F. Mullinully.

He was in charge of Fort Devons from June of 85 through July of 86, I want to say.

Anyway, Fort Devons were at a station, teeny tiny military-based central Massachusetts.

Those were in time home for the 10th Special Forces in the 39th Engineer Battalion, regularly

used for Army Reserve and National Guard units from all around the 6th New England States

and base closed in March of 96.

I was talking about a phrase that General Mullinully used once.

He was referring to an incident that happened on base.

I want to say it was a training accident in South Post where things went south.

I believe in the military world, the word they use is snafu, because we have a family

friendly audience, I will tell you that snafu stands for situation normal, all fudged

up.
