headed to the surface of the planet Mars, where perseverance has been preparing mission

sample returned for some time now, leaving gifts for the geoscientists of the world, our

There is a great deal of money in Washington, some of it devoted to NASA, and then, Bob,

what's happened to the sample return mission? We need those little presents that perseverance

is deposited. Good evening, John. For the last year and a half, plus, I've been saying

this mission is confused, it's app-as-it, it's ever-changing design, as well as ballooning

budgets, was making it almost impossible for launch. I predicted in February 22 that

if 26 launch date was absurd, it would not happen for at least 5 to 10 years after

that date. NASA has now released an independent review, I was not actually by NASA, but they asked

an independent review of NASA did, over the Mars sample return mission, and it has concluded

that my prediction was wrong because it was much, much too conservative. Let me quote

this independent review. The Mars sample return mission was established with unrealistic

budget and schedule expectations from the beginning. The sample return mission was also

organized under an unwieldy structure. As a result, there is currently no credible, congruent,

technical, no properly marched and scheduled, crossed, or technical baseline that can be

accomplished with the likely available funding. In other words, this mission can't happen,

as NASA is currently trying to do an answer on Europe, by the way, because it's a combined

mission. That's one of the problems, because they're trying to coordinate with Europe,

and coordination with Europe is pretty much minimal. That's what this report says. I
