It's Monday. It's the 1st of August.

Pinch in a punch for the first day of the month and no returns.

But as I say, it's lovely.

It's always lovely when you know that it's the beginning of the week and it's the beginning of the month because you've got all to play for, which is fantastic. And I'm having tea this week at one of my

favourite hotels, The Goring, which I'm very much looking forward to. And it should be great fun.

Should be great. Lovely hotel. Lovely tea. And hopefully with some lovely people as well.

So that'll be nice. I forgot to mention, actually, Friday was the lunch. Five of us, all in radio

to certain degrees, and we

had a really, really nice time. I think we managed to, I think, actually, I didn't pay very much

for it at all. I got sort of kind of treated for it, which was lovely. I think we managed to get

through six bottles of breseco, plus various other sort of bevies and stuff like that. Food was lovely. It was really great and the conversation flowed and everybody had a very, very nice time. And left there. I left at about quarter past six. They went on till two in the morning. Not at the same place. They went off to some bars. I didn't think I was falling asleep at

quarter past six. And then, of course, because it was Friday, yes, I'd taken the car into town.

That was the big mistake because as we're standing there and I'm looking at all these bicycles going

down the strand. I'm thinking, oh no. And then they went up through Piccadilly and they went on my
