At Bloomberg you can find a real-time graphic showing the lineup of container vessels

now parked offshore because there is no one to clear them out on the major docks all from Houston all the way to

Maine. Liz this is a surprise to me. I didn't know this was on the horizon last

week but now that I've been reading about it,

these dock workers believe they're going to be replaced by robots, and they not only want

more money, they weren't guarantees.

Is that credible on this part or is that a negotiating

position? Good evening to you.

Good evening, John. Well, I think honestly this strike has been sort of looming for weeks and the good news is that has

allowed a lot of big companies to front load they're buying even for the holiday

season big companies have been putting orders in early trying to get their

inventories in good shape so that a dock strike of some duration meaning a few

days or a week or so would not really disrupt their schedule.

But the problem is, I think, number one, for small businesses,

they don't have the wherewithal to do that.
