The United Hour of Workers union threatened to widen the strikes against Detroit's car

makers, writes the Wall Street Journal within these hours, while Wall Street analysts

tallied potential hits to the company's bottom line, from wage increases that now seems

certain.

I read this list not only because the strike is underway, and the leadership at the

UAW is saying we may expand this strike so that it's no longer here or there, it's everywhere.

But also because part of this story I've been told is about green technology, is about

the subsidies for the EVs, is about switching plants to making EVs.

The fact is EV making is doesn't require the same size of the workforce that making gasoline

driven cars requires.

Also EV jobs can move to non-union states.

So there is part of this strike is about wages, certainly a profound part is immediately

impacting the economy.

But it's also about the UAW can see the future, and it's not about union management.

It's about green technology and non-union plants.

Joe Biden doesn't have an answer to that because his agenda is driving the EV market.

Yeah, so because Joe Biden is pushing the transition to EVs very hard, very rapidly, mandating

tailpipe emissions numbers that would basically require more than three quarters of all, sorry,

more than two thirds of all automobiles by 2032 to be EVs, the union is looking at

a substantial decline in their membership.
