Mark Teixeira played 14 years in the major leagues, racking up numerous awards and honors and winning a World Series in 2009 with the New York Yankees.
After starring at Georgia Tech, Teixeira was drafted No. 5 overall in 2001 by the Texas Rangers, for whom he played from 2003-2007. After brief stints with the Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Angels, he finished his career with eight seasons as a member of the Yankees. He was selected to the All-Star Game three times, won five Gold Glove Awards, three Silver Slugger Awards and was the American League home runs and runs batted in leader in 2009.
