Well, hey, it's Friday. That's good news. We got a lot to get to this hour. We lost Bernard Carrick.

I didn't realize he'd been not well recently, some heart trouble, and passed away yesterday. The age of 69 police commissioner, Bernard Carrick, who it was a great guy in real life.

He had been before that, the commissioner of the corrections department and was considered

the greatest ever at that.

Rikers Island, always a total violent disaster. He really, really cleaned it up. Like 95% of the

violence in Rikers Island stopped, did an incredible job there. Then he actually at one point,

and he was in the police department. At one point was a driver for Rudy Giuliani.

Now, this is not unusual.

There are a lot of times where a driver has gone on to big things.

He's not the first police commissioner to rise up that way.

And I think George Pataki had been a driver for, believe it or not, Nelson Rockefeller.

You learn a lot sitting next to the guy in the car 12 hours a day, seven days a week.

But Carrick went on to be the police commissioner.

He didn't serve a long time.

It was just, I think, two years.

But it was an amazing two years.

He was the commissioner on 9-11 at police headquarters, just blocks from the World Trade Center,

when the planes hit. And you remember those incredible pictures, him and Rudy and Pataki at Ground Zero.

And then went on to do, also was at one point was the minister of Iraq

George W. Bush after the war had

to govern Iraq and he kept sending
