Summary

Mark Pollock returns on the eve of this year’s Run In The Dark. The global fund raising phenomenon has raised millions for his charity Collaborative Cures, The Pollock Trust and funded breakthroughs in the search for a cure for paralysis. Today Mark talks to Jarlath for the first time since their epic first conversation in 2017 about the new journey he has begun, his masterclasses inspired by his own traumatic life experiences, recoveries and passion for the basis for virtual and in person seminars he has travelled the world to give to the world’s most successful companies. Together with Jarlath he digs into the beliefs, science and code that underpins what he preaches. Mark delves deep into brain chemistry, the flow state and how we can reach it on demand. When you get into flow, they've found that you don't use more of your brain like we used to think,

0:06.9

oh, we're only using 10% of our brain. We need to use more of it. In fact, in the flow state,

we go into localized transient hypofrontality where the part of the brain that makes us human

actually starts to shut down and we concentrate effort in

0:28.5

Irish thing. Well, look at your man. We forget about that entirely. You perform five times better

in flow than you do whenever you're in the struggle phase.

The Mark Pollock story is not just about a man who lost it all, recovered, only to suffer

a more devastating loss from which he would rise again.

It's about a man who looked at paralysis and asked, can we work together to find a cure for this thing?

we are all trying to transition out of lockdown and hopefully the pandemic itself when a lot of us have lost things and people

we previously based our identities upon. I thought there's never really been a better time

to have Mark Pollack back on the podcast to hear the full conversation and our previous
