Well, hey, the good thing with John Oates, you don't have to explain who he is.

One of the most popular greatest musicians, singer, songwriter for decades, first tall in Oates, then a big solo career.

He's got a new album coming out this week called Reunion.

Excellent new album. And he's with us right now.

Good to talk to you, Mark. How's it going, man?

Hey, good to talk to you again. Now, reunion is the name of the new album. By the way, this is not a

haul and oats reunion. I mean, you better explain what it means. It's about what reunion really

means. Yeah, it's definitely not a Hall & O it means. It's about what reunion really means.

Yeah, it's definitely not a whole-notes reunion. It was inspired by my dad, who's 100, and he was talking about how he was going to have a

reunion with mom who passed away a number of years ago.

So it really hit home to me, and I started thinking about a lot of things and, you know,

thinking about my life and how I was going to move forward and who I really was and, you know,

outside of the, you know, the 50-year relationship with Darrell Hall and the Hall and Oates

music. And I wanted to, you know, I wanted to kind of recapture the essence of what made me want to be a musician as a kid.

Yeah.

And that's what this album is really about.

It's definitely the most personal thing I've ever done.
