I know we have inflation, so I just hope you didn't inflate my reputation there.

So I appreciate your intro.

Hey, what's going to, this inflation is only going to get worse. I don't see anybody anywhere

in the federal government that seems to be qualified to do anything about it. What's going to happen

here? You know, that is the most frustrating thing about all of this, Mark. There's something

really interesting about inflation

in our history or when there is some kind of economic crisis. Leaders often, and don't tell them,

I told you this, leaders often don't have to do all that much, but if they appear to be really

addressing the problem and talking about a new policy, that seems to work. I'll give you a great example.

In 2007, when we had an oil and gas price spike, remember we got gas prices over $4 for the first time in that summer of 2007.

Then President Bush announced that he was going to lift some of the restrictions on offshore drilling.

Now, a lot of the pencil pushers and bean counters

and Nambi-pambi folks said like, wow, that doesn't matter because it's going to take two years

to that oil to get out of the ground. True. That's scientifically true. But what that did was it sent

a message to investors and the markets as a whole that somebody knew this was a serious problem

and was going to do something about it, even if it

wouldn't have a tangible effect right away. And that is not what we're getting right now.
