because of the internet I mean these there's so many phony stories by the way and they have generate, these websites have to generate clicks. So that's the difference

than, say, 20 years ago when legitimate stories would have come across what they call

the wire, the Associated Press wire, UPI wire. Now, half i have the day my day is spent running down what's true and

what isn't true and i have a staff to do it but instead of them researching legitimate stories they

have to find out whether the story is true or not let me give you a really good example that, you know, we'll hit home for a lot of New Yorkers.

So a few weeks ago on 60 Minutes, they spent a lot of time on a story that said it was an

informer in Amsterdam that told the Nazis where Anne Frankner family were hiding.

Remember that?

Yeah.

Okay.

And it was based on a book.

So 60 Minutes, and I'm a guy who can tell you this firsthand, if they do your book,

because 60 Minutes did killing Jesus for me, if they do your book, it goes right to number one, because millions of Americans see it.

So this Anne Frank book went to number one, all right?

60 Minutes devoted a lot of time to it.

Book, bang.

Now they had to pull the book off the shelves because it's not true apparently.

So we're living in a world where you don't know, even on 60 minutes, which was at one time the gold standard for television news.

You don't know what's true and what isn't true.
