0:16.0 | Hey folks, very exciting guest right now. His name is Mark Ibrahim. |
0:23.0 | Drug Enforcement Administration DEA agent. |
0:27.0 | He was suspended from the agency for being outside the Capitol building during the January 6th riot where many senators and Congress people were killed as you may have heard. |
0:43.0 | Oh, I'm sorry, nobody was killed. Oh, Ashley Babitt was killed. |
0:48.0 | Gosh, that's a new take. |
0:53.0 | I got to talk to Mark Ibrahim about many things. He comes to us by way of Patrick Coffin and our friend Rob McCoy. |
1:03.0 | And we just want him to tell his story. It's important stuff. Mark Ibrahim, welcome. |
1:10.0 | Thank you. Thank you, Rob. |
1:12.0 | I can't see Mark. Mark, welcome. I want to say that I'm grateful to you for wanting to tell the story because there has been such madness and confusion surrounding whatever it is that supposedly happened on January 6th. |
1:29.0 | And the idea that we're not supposed to talk about it or we're supposed to have certain opinions about it is very troubling to me as an American and I'll be the last person to shut up on this kind of an issue. |
1:39.0 | So, um, facts matter, truth matters and we, uh, we just want to hear your story. I'm not sure what you can say. There's some kind of a lawsuit going on. What can you, what can you tell us? Let's start there. |
1:55.0 | Um, I mean, there's an active case against me. I'm facing 15 years in jail, um, facing multiple charges. I never went in the building. I never heard anybody. I even offered assistance to the FBI SWAT team that was outside the Capitol building. |
2:13.0 | And you, one of the members on the team personally, he had my personal cell phone as did my brother. My brother is a FBI special agent. He was with me the whole time. He's still an active special agent. He wasn't fired or he's not facing any jail time whatsoever. |
2:31.0 | He was with me pretty much the whole time. |
2:36.0 | So what, so what, so what is the story here? In other words, I'm confused. You are, uh, based on our mutual acquaintances, our mutual friendships with folks like Patrick, often Rob McCoy. I know you're a good guy. |
2:50.0 | Uh, you love your country. What, what can you say about why you would be suspended and you're telling me your brother. You said he's, he's an FBI guy. |
3:03.0 | Yeah, so I was home. I, I was home for the holidays. It's not like people misunderstand they think that I traveled from Orange County to Washington DC for the rally. I'm actually like a Virginia Northern Virginia Washington DC native. |
3:16.0 | I went to Catholic University and, um, I mean, I grew up in the Northern Virginia area. |
3:22.0 | But wait, but I'm gonna stop you right there. Even the implication like you're directing like, oh, I didn't travel there for the rally. I know a million people who traveled there for the rally. Graham mothers, people who love Jesus, people of, so, so even the idea that like we have to say why didn't travel there. |
3:40.0 | Why, why do people have to say that? I know many people who traveled there. These are the most wonderful people I know. I know they did nothing wrong. But just to be clear, you're saying that you happen to be sure. |
3:51.0 | Yeah. The way things that are getting lumped in right attending that rally was not immoral, illegal or wrong in any capacity, the destruction of property, the assault on police officers. |
