What's going to happen when you get to heaven.

Well, we have a guest today back in studio once again is Dr. Mark Hitchcock.

He has written Heavenly Rewards. What a wonderful topic and I can't

wait to have this conversation with you, Mark. When you think about rewards in heaven, it really

then really determines how we live now because if there are going to be rewards in heaven,

we need to ask, well, what are they? What do we have to do to do to get them? And why should we even care about that? Because there's some

people that say, well, hey, just being in heaven is going to be enough for me. So why should I even worry about rewards at all? So there's a lot of questions that surround the topic of rewards in heaven. And here's the thing. I've heard a lot of negatives. You know, listen, look out, it's going to be tough. When you have to face Christ, it's going

to be a bad day. And there's been a lot of fire and brimstone preaching down through the ages.

My favorite sentence in the Bible, which is uttered twice by the Apostle John, is a three-word

sentence. And it is this, God is love. And I always try to remember that, because that's

going to get me through. God is love. And yet we must all appear before him

because God is absolutely flawless and perfect and he is our creator. And let's face it, I'm not perfect.

Well, my view is whenever the rapture takes place at some point in time, believers are going to be caught up to heaven. The dead are going to be raised, a living are going to be raptured. And we're going to appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Now, that's a different event, I believe, than the Great White Throne Judgment. The Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation 20 is going to be for lost people, where they're going to be judged for their sins. People often go right to the end of the Bible, and that's what they look at. Ooh, it's going to be, they're going to be fire and brimstone, and I can't face that. But really, it's not going to be fire and brimstone for believers. That's right. And Paul in 2 Corinthians 510 says, for we must all appear before the

judgment seat of Christ. We there being believers, Paul himself included, says that we can be

recompensed according for what we've done in the body. So the judgment seat of Christ is not going

to, the issue at the judgment seat won't be our salvation. It's going to be our service.

The issue of our salvation has already been settled

here on earth when we trusted Christ as our Savior. Right. And it's very important, I think,

for us to remember and keep one thing very clear, our redemption is by belief, but our rewards

then will be based on our behavior as a believer. But I do agree with you, and this is an important point, I think,

that the overall tone at the judgment seat will be positive. In 1 Corinthians chapter 4,
