Summary

The Interview: Famed investor and entrepreneur Mark Cuban, star of Shark Tank, joins Real Vision founder and CEO Raoul Pal to make sense of the changing market structure and the disruption of the financial establishment. Cuban sees tokenization and blockchain bringing more transparency to the financial industry and remains bullish on Bitcoin as a store of value and reserve asset. He also praises stimulus efforts but sees political partisanship as a major risk to fixing the dichotomy between Main Street and Wall Street. Recorded on February 3, 2021 Key Learnings: Cuban follows the HODL ethos of cryptocurrency and shares what’s in his crypto portfolio: BTC, ETH, LTC, AAVE, and more. When it comes to the public markets, he explains why Amazon and Netflix are among the big tech companies with the strongest AI capabilities and they’ve remained two of his biggest holdings for years. Well, I'm fantastic to get you on Reel Vision. Finally, it's my chance to get to sit down and chat to you.

0:15.4

I'm fine, you messed with the rest, end up with the best. You know there we are.

0:19.8

Thank you, my friend. Listen, I want to pick your brains about a bunch of things,

0:23.7

because there's a lot going on in the world, and you've always got some really interesting perspectives.

0:28.3

One of the things we're kind of framing right now, and somebody's going through my head and

0:31.2

probably going through your head is, oh, in some sort of bubble, you know, if we talk about

0:35.1

the financial markets first, what's your perspective on this? Because it seems like there's a lot going on.

0:40.3

Yeah, there's two types of bubbles in my mind. There are interest rate fed bubbles,

0:46.4

and then there are people driven buying bubbles, right? And depending on the asset, I think it's

0:53.6

a little bit different, but I think for the most part, this is a fed driven bubble more than it is

0:59.2

anything else. You know, so you can't really compare this part of just stock prices to what we saw

1:07.6

in with the internet bubble, right? Because interest rates back then were four or five percent,

1:12.5

so people have had risk-free alternatives. They could just put the money in a savings account and

1:17.2

make money, so it was a personal choice to come in and buy. But, you know, in some of the

1:24.0

collectible items, I think that there's joint responsibility. There's the money available from

1:30.6

the Fed, and then there's people looking to get into a variety of different types of collectibles,

1:35.7

whether it's crypto, whether it's trading cards, you know, art, whatever it may be.

1:40.4

And what about the massive rise of retail? You know, you know, I've seen you on Twitter talk

1:45.2

about it. We've all been looking at this. The huge rise of retail, which is great, but it seems

1:50.4

like it's come very quickly with stimulus checks and, you know, it seems to be driven by other things

1:56.9

as well. What's your take on the whole situation? I love it, right? Because it's the revenge of the

2:02.4

nerd, you know, it's the revenge of the little guy, and it's no different. It's just using some of
