Once upon a time, Marker thought she wanted to be a diplomat.

She studied foreign affairs in the Middle East.

She even learned Arabic.

But after interning at CNN in college, she decided journalism was the path for her.

Since then, she's covered business news for CMBC and Bloomberg TV.

And she covered everything from nuclear negotiations with Iran to US tensions with North Korea for CBS.

These days, her spot on Face the Nation makes her the only woman on TV

leading a major Sunday political affairs show on her own right now.
