Okay, so right now is kind of that weird time in hockey. The Stanley Cup has been awarded. We've seen a very entertaining weekend in Vegas with various members of the Vegas Golden Knights celebrating their Stanley Cup win, William Carlson, I'm looking

your direction, sir. And right now, so we're all waiting for the draft next week and the

NHL awards and then free agency. We're still going to be carrying on with this

show for a couple of weeks here to make sure that you're covered with all of it. But right now it's kind of that weird kind of time where things are happening behind the scenes and conversations are certainly happening and things may just happen suddenly like maybe a buyout like we saw with Oliver

Ekman Larson last week and we'll get into that with Elliot Friedman here in a couple of moments and what that means for the Vancouver Canucks and what that means for

Oliver Ekman Larson himself and I guess to some extent as well what that means

to the Arizona Coyotes who have to retain now for checks notes eight years on Oliver

Ekman Larson as well not just the Vancouver Canucks folks that are retaining salary

and that slot is gone and they will continue to retain now for not four but eight seasons

on Oliver Ekman-Larson. But it's one of those situations here where everybody's

anticipating the draft and that's the big sort of next tent pole on the rise in here and I know that we I know

that we say this every year I know every season we head into the draft and we say man this year's

NHL draft sure it's about the kids and we're all looking forward to Connor

Bedard and you know he'll be you know go to the Chicago Blackhawks first overall not much

intrigue there you know we'll see who ends up going number two whether it's

fantilly whether it's Carlson where does Matt Faye Michkoff, end up, all of these questions

etc. and we'll debate and discuss all of it. But the one thing that we always

talk about is it seems as if this season and it seems as if this year there will be plenty of trade activity come

draft now we got it last year and a lot of it was courtesy of Pierre Dorian who

pulled the big move making the trade with the Chicago

Blackhawks for Alex to Brinket. It seems as if Ottawa is poised now to move on from

Alex to Brinket maybe at the draft but I think what it does underscore is is a couple of things
