Today's talk comes from Pastor Louis Giglio.

Obviously, Easter is the crowning moment in the most important week in the history of the world

and I'm so glad that we have an eyewitness account of what happened on resurrection mourning.

And we're going to look at that eyewitness account in the gospel of Matthew today,

if you have your scripture, the very last chapter, chapter 28.

And just to give us some context, each of the gospel writers, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and

John were coming at the story of Jesus, same Jesus, same story, same miracle, same journey, but they all are

looking through the lens of their particular viewpoint.

In Matthew's viewpoint is that he's a Jewish believer.

So now he's one of the disciples following Jesus,

but his lens, if you will, is the Old Testament scripture

as it prophesied that there is a coming king, a promised king for Israel.

And so from the beginning to the end, when you read Matthew, what you see highlighted is Jesus is king he's the promised

king he's the one the prophet has spoke about and now he's the coming king

and ultimately the reigning king and that's the lens that we're gonna see

in Matthew's story today

it goes like this beginning in verse one of chapter 28

after the Sabbath at dawn on the first day of the week.
