Well, what is seven days it has been?

I'm recording this podcast on Friday morning

and I'm afraid what I will say will be outdated by this evening.

Last Friday, as the virus began in the US,

and President Trump reassured the nation

that the five cases would soon be zero. I speculated on whether medical conferences would be

cancelled. You all know the news. Not only are major medical conferences cancelled, everything is cancelled. Everything is cancelled. The Tour of Flanders in Perry

Rubay cancelled. The NBA cancelled. March Madness. PGA tournaments, cancelled.

Disneyland cancelled.

Even my beloved park runs, cancelled.

Your retirement accounts almost canceled by a plummeting stock market.

The exponential spread of coronavirus through Europe and the US has given our time a post-9-11 feel. I follow about 1,500 people on Twitter.
