When you have a story to tell, you have the show things behind the scenes, says Anthony Ciavirella, co-founder of Manmade, a men's essentials brand.
To that end, much of the development process at Manmade was documented via social media.
"All these little things that we have to learn throughout the process of why modal felt so good and why we used it - we documented, and we showed," he says. "It's not easy to start a brand not always W's. And sometimes the L's that you take will bring you to a W later on, and it's a and you want to be able to showcase the wins and showcase the losses as well because they're necessary evil to go through them."
One of the most significant tools Manmade discovered was TikTok.
"TikTok is magic," Anthony says. "It's undervalued attention. And then on the ad side, we saw some huge success because it's super underpriced, and helped us grow."
Anthony has words of wisdom for other would-be entrepreneurs considering a jump into the e-commerce world.
"Go for it. You got one life," he says. "There are so many things that can stop someone from doing it. And if that's the case right, you can do your 9 to 5 job, but then at night don't watch TV, take those two or three hours and do your research, create your business plan. ... You need to manifest your future."
In Part 2, Anthony talks about:
* The importance of being transparent during the development process.
* Why they chose the fabric they did vs. more popular options such as polyester or cotton.
* The value of TikTok.
* Advice for other entrepreneurs.
* The absolute necessity of planning.
* The importance of having the support of significant others.
* The downsides to being your own boss.
* A rundown of the products.
