Summary

After Austin’s parents separated when he was a child, he was seeking a father figure and turned to Christianity. After a while he realised it did not resonate with him and he became an atheist. His spiritual awakening began after an experience he had when taking psychedelics and he has never looked back.

We talked about the structure of religion, competing distractions and programming to direct us away from spirituality, how substance users are either using it to escape past traumas or to awaken their minds, how the difference between negative and positive thoughts affect our lives and what it feels like to experience different dimensions and frequencies.

1:18.0	Well, thank you for having me. What a beautiful introduction. And I thank you for the opportunity
1:22.0	for having us conversation. Yeah, I'm excited to get into it. So what has your spiritual awakening been like?
1:30.9	Like what sort of kicked it all off for you or were you one of those people who was sort of always awakened?
1:39.1	It had to be kicked off for me. So back when I was in high school, my parents actually got divorced
1:45.0	to my freshman year. So then on, I decided I had to be like super independent and had to do
1:50.5	everything myself. And that almost forced me into the matrix a lot sooner than I would have been,
1:57.4	maybe before I had possibly gotten an doctor and in a certain ways of thinking.
2:01.6	But it made me realize early on that just things did not fit.
