SES is acquiring IntelS

for 3.1 billion dollars, a combination,

years in the making.

It's a deal that brings together two major communications satellite

operators in a market facing increased competition from newer

entrance like SpaceX with Starlink and eventually Amazon with Kuiper.

S. S. S. S. S. S. E. S. S. E. S. C. E. L. Sala. who took the helm in

February says the timing was right, as

Andalsat repositions itself for growth post bankruptcy, and as SES

envisions itself as a one-stop multi-orbit network.

The transaction now is structured differently

than the attempts before.

It's an acquisition versus an merger.

It's always simpler, right?

When you do an acquisition versus trying to create a merger and figure out what the governance is and who are the

shareholders and who sits on the board etc. So it was quite simple and the value proposition

we came up with was straightforward.

It's 3.1 billion dollars, all-cash transaction,

we acquired the company, and I don't look at it as an acquisition,

I look at it as a merger, we are similar size we have similar markets
