Managers, what's the record you have for fastest firing, and why did it happen?

Oh, this one was about an hour. The kid was a temp higher, and we set him up at his job,

showed him what to do, and turned him loose. There was a can of degreaser sitting with the machine

that he was operating. I came into my office and sat down, looked up and just watched him

pick up a shop rag, spray

a whole bunch of degreeser into it, and then he pushed it into his face and started huffing.

Deeply.

I sighed, got up, went over to him and said, come on, son, and walked him to the door.

I asked the temp agency to please attempt to vet their applicants a little better in the future.

I watched my supervisor fire someone on the first day. Most of the new hires are actually

middle-aged women. 90% of them are awesome, but a lot of them feel super entitled because they're

middle-aged. It didn't help that I was only 23 as well. Anyway, our new hire's first day of work, she seemed okay, doesn't make too much of an effort with the kids. It's not that abnormal, I guess it takes some time to get comfortable with other people's kids. So we change diapers on a schedule here, unless they poop or obviously need a change. I've changed a couple of diapers already, and I noticed she doesn't lift a finger if the kids need a change.

10 a.m. rolls around, which is when we change every kid.

So I ask her to help me.

She seems surprised and goes, oh, I don't change diapers, honey.

Yep.

This lady refused to change diapers.

She took a job caring for babies.

She was fired maybe an hour later. Daycare workers, oh my God. My wife worked in daycare for four or five years, so I've had to listen to the stories. The amount of bull crap that goes on is ridiculous. At least your supervisor fired them. My wife's boss would have just shrugged it off as for some reason all of her bosses were way too nice and never wanted to fire anyone. She always had some part-time teen or early 20-year-olds that were there to make some money doing nothing while going to school.

Those kids never contributed and never got fired either.

I managed a gas station for a while.

I hired this guy who seemed completely normal, which was hard to come by, so I had him start the next day.
