On the evening of February 2nd, 2011, LVMPD Lee Detective Sam Smith was running point on the operation to take down Tony

Carleo, better known to the world as the Biker Bandit.

It was a big operation. People from the FBI were there,

robbery squads were there, we had rope there, and everybody was broken into

their different areas of assignment. The goal was to prove Tony had the Bilagio

cranberry chips in his possession and was not just a middleman for fencing the

chips, which meant multiple teams rating multiple locations at once.

If executed properly, it would be a symphony of civic competency.

Mike set it up to buy the rest of the chips from Tony at the Bolagio.

And we found out a couple of different places that he was staying as well as the room at the Bolagio. So we decided to do search warrants on three separate locations at the same time and take them down.

So we had all hands on deck.
