That's President Donald Trump, talking to Fox News about New York City mayor-elect Zoran Mamdani. This afternoon,

the two New Yorkers are scheduled to meet in the Oval Office. This is their first face-to-face

meeting since Mamdani was elected in early November, though the two have traded Barbes for months.

Mamdani has criticized Trump over issues, including inflation.

Trump has repeatedly labeled Momdani as a communist, and he's also threatened to cut federal

funding from New York City if Mamdani won.

Mamdani describes himself as a Democratic socialist and has said he's not a communist.

In an interview with MS Now,

Mamdani said his team reached out to the White House

because he made a commitment to, quote,

meet with anyone and everyone,

so long as it was to the benefit of 8.5 million people

who call the city home.
