Summary

This Sunday, guest Pastor Guy Mason continued our sermon series, Making Sense of the Church, with a teaching on the Church as the City on a Hill. Anchored in Jesus' teaching in Matthew 5 commissioning His people to be the light of the world and a city set on a hill, we are reminded of our calling to pursue a life of undivided worship and Christ-centered holiness as a witness to the world. As we become a people set apart and built together in love to push back darkness with light, we can rest in the knowledge that this calling is simply a continuation of the perfect work Jesus began in and for us.

0:09.9	evening, Pastor Guy Mason, who is returning with us again this week. Guy Mason is the founding and
0:16.3	senior pastor of City on a Hill, a church that began in 2007 with a small team and a big vision.
0:23.3	Today, City on a Hill is a movement of many churches that gathers across multiple locations
0:27.6	in Australia and is united around the central mission of knowing Jesus and making Jesus known.
0:34.5	Guy graduated with the BA in Public Relations from RMITM.I.T. University has a Master's of
0:39.5	Divinity from Ridley College and is currently completing a doctor to minister with Wheaton College.
0:44.6	He is the husband to Vanessa and the father to four children. He is an ordained Anglican
0:49.5	minister and serves as an archdeacon in the diocese of Melbourne.

1:00.2	and then we are going to give Pastor Guy Mason a warm church of the city.

1:06.1	Our teaching text comes from Matthew chapter 5, verses 14 through 16.
1:09.3	It says, you are the light of the world.
1:12.2	A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
1:19.1	Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
1:26.5	In the same way, let your light shine before others so that they may see your good works and give glory to your father who is in heaven.
1:27.8	This is the word of the Lord.
