DEEP DIVE - On this episode we talk about the worst kept secret in UFO culture; and yet one of the most intangible and unprovable secret cabals of knowledge and power; The Majestic 12. Created in 1947 as the committee to hide UFO knowledge from the population; Project MJ12 and its high ranking members knew that the UFO phenomenon was about to get big. They had to control this narrative.Top level military and intelligence appointments to Majestic 12 ensured its secrecy and its potential influence over the UFO hysteria sweeping the nation. They needed to control the media, who were rabid with stories of sightings and close encounters daily. UFO mania was on and a measured approach to the problem was needed. Majestic 12 was one barely provable operation by US military; but experiments like Project Sign, Project Grudge and Project Mogul were documented and very real, and laid beside MJ12, made the whole thing to seem more legitimate somehow. 0:20.1	After the crash at Roswell in 1947, the US media machine realized the insatiable imagination
0:26.0	that the American newsreading population had and the voracious appetite with which they
0:30.8	could deliver and consume stories about UFOs, flying saucers and spaceships from other

0:38.7	With such a widely discussed topic and the potential to upset the state's core on our
0:42.6	world, the American government had to make a move towards controlling the flow and content
0:47.3	of these news stories.
0:49.2	So in 1947, under direction from President Harry S. Truman, Operation MJ-12 was conceived.
0:58.6	The majestic 12 were a top ranking team, compromise of the premier, military and technological
1:03.8	minds of the day, including top scientists, engineers, army, navy and air force top brass
1:10.1	and even the soon to be first director of the CIA.
1:16.0	Relitless provided us conclusive proof that this clandestine organization existed.
1:21.3	But, UFOologists, Bill Moore and Stan Friedman were the discoverers of documents that detailed
1:28.3	the workings and members of the MJ-12 and they were even gilded with awards from the UFO
1:33.8	society for these discoveries.
1:37.0	The inconclusive artifacts and documents pertaining to the existence of majestic 12 may still
1:42.1	come under heavy scrutiny from some.
1:44.7	But when examined beside provable and demonstrable operations that were carried out by the US
1:49.4	military and intelligence communities, it doesn't seem so far fetched.
