president of Magna International.

We welcome Swami back for his second appearance on the Shift Podcast.

He was on just about a year ago, and obviously a lot has changed in that time.

We've obviously been dealing with ramifications of COVID and a general slowdown in me in the

auto industry.

Swami is going to talk to us about how that's impacted automated vehicle and driver assist

investment and R&D and sales. But first, Alexa, you know, we're obviously talking about suppliers today.

What is the latest on the supply landscape?

Well, Pete, we've been ramping up here at least with the Detroit 3 now for a couple of weeks and you know so

far there have been some blips here and there I mean of course still facing some parts shortages and

challenges anecdotally at least out of Mexico also you know there have been some

incidents of cases of COVID-19 and a few manufacturing plants so that's you know I think just going to be a reality moving forward

there will always be some stalls here and there as as we still

have this virus very much so on our minds and in society here but for the most part you know it's

been relatively smooth I think a lot of the suppliers are still running at

limited capacity.

Most are not past, you know, 75% capacity at this point.
