President Donald Trump welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron to the White House today,

which also marks three years since Russia invaded Ukraine.

This morning, Trump held his first meeting with G7 leaders alongside Macron about Ukraine,

which Macron called, quote, perfect. Here's CNN's Jeff Zeleny.

European allies are really trying to pressure the American president

into holding up their end of the deal, not giving too much away to Russia as this negotiation works its way forward.

And a readout from the French president just a short time ago,

he once again underscored that Russia was the aggressor in Ukraine. Those are words that the

President Donald Trump has not yet said. So there is a divide there.

European leaders are holding a summit in Kiev to mark the third anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine

war.

Zelensky says he hopes for continued U.S. support and calls for unity between the U.S. and Europe.

This, as the U.S. voted against its own U.N. General Assembly resolution, after several

amendments were added to strengthen the language against Russia and reaffirm Ukraine's territorial

integrity.

The resolution was adopted by the UN General Assembly with 93 votes in favor.
