I'm your host, Chelsea Devantes, I'm a writer, comedian, and filmmaker, and this week

we are book clubbing Mackenzie Phillips memoir written in 2009 titled High on Arrival.

This is a book that was one of the most intense reads of my life.

It was both very difficult to ingest, and also I finished it in a day.

It's like a book that it really feels for lack of a better word given the content of this

book.

I started the book in the afternoon.

I couldn't put it down until it was 1 a.m.

And I've given a lot of trigger warnings in this podcast before.

So now I need you to add up every trigger warning I've ever given, put them all together,

and that's the trigger warning I'm issuing now.

I do not have enough warnings for you, but if you are in the right headspace for this,

I think it's a really important book, a really beautiful message, and personally, I love

dark memoirs.

I love when people get dark and share their truth, and this book does it in spades.
