Apple gets good news from the ITC,

The U.S. International Trade Commission has reversed a preliminary ruling against Apple.

Earlier this year, one of the ITC's administrative law judges ruled that Apple had infringed

on patents held by S3 graphics, though that ruling had to be reviewed by the entire Commission.

Now FOSS patents has the full commission saying that no violation has been shown and that the investigation is terminated.

The peace says the Wisenware Force should be known in the coming days.

In the meantime, this looks bad, or at the very least embarrassing for HTC. The piece

points out that the phone maker is in the process of acquiring S3 graphics and

was hoping to gain leverage against Apple. HTC's first complaint with the ITC against Apple was rejected by an administrative law judge,

though that too still has to be reviewed by the entire Commission.

Meanwhile, Apple has a complaint of its own against

HTC before the ITC, an administrative law judge in that case ruled in July

that HTC did violate a couple of Apple's patents, though that has to be reviewed as well.

FOSS says the Commission has a target date of December 6th for the final ruling in that particular case.
