My name is Ash Valier, spelled V-A-L-L-I-E-R.

And where do you work?

I work at the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory.

And where did you go to school?

I got my bachelor degree in biochemistry and cell biology from UC San Diego and a master

degree in biomedical forensic sciences from Boston University.

Now following your education, where did you go to work from there?

Directly after I got my degree at Boston University, I worked at the Broad Institute.

And what did you do at the Broad Institute?

I did quality control checks of items that potentially could be tested for

for pharmaceutical use.

Now how long have you worked at the Massachusetts State Police Crime Laboratory?
