| 0:29.3 | lots of types of Christ, as we see in especially David, but also Samuel and Saul. And even the whole idea of prophets, priests, and kings, they all point to the Messiah, don't they? |
| 0:43.1 | And these Israelite leaders are in a good example of how they fall short, you know, and they are not our great God. |
| 0:54.4 | And this gives us a nice contrast to see who we worship, that we worship the great Jehovah, who is our prophet Christ and king, who doesn't make all these mistakes. |
| 1:03.6 | As far as people who are the main characters, we are so grateful to still have our prophet Samuel. |
| 1:09.7 | The book of Samuel started with him as a child |
| 1:12.7 | or even before his conception as promised his wonderful mother, Hannah, being heard of God and names |
| 1:20.9 | his child after that. Then Saul is an ex-main character and his son Jonathan and then David. |
| 1:29.0 | But we see, you know, the book seems to show the rise of a potential great leader. |
| 1:34.6 | And then because of their choices, their failure. |
| 1:38.3 | And it's really tragic to see how someone with so much potential can fall so far in the cases of all three of the kings. |
| 1:49.3 | But also the other side of it is Samuel too. |
