Hello, good to be with you, and nice to have others here too.

So we had three questions we always start out with.

How does this bring me closer to Christ?

How does the Book of Mormon help me understand the Old Testament?

How does this help me live a more Christ-like life?

And today we're covering Ruth in the first two chapters of Samuel.

And the book of Ruth is my favorite book outside of Isaiah.

I love this book. There's so much here.

And the prophetess Hannah is such a great woman in my life that I named one of my children after her.

And she's my great grandmother's name too.

It's fabulous.

I'm thrilled to be talking about both of these two great women.

I really feel like this book, starting with Book of Ruth and then carrying on to

1st Samuel, shows God's hands in the righteous people's lives.

But, you know, it comes right

out of the time period of the judges. The Book of Ruth fits into all these wicked cycles of

pride and sin and apostasy. Here we have an example of a family who, for some reason, left. And it says that we'll get that when we get

into the text, but it's interesting to see it. I think it's a fabulous story to show types of Christ.

I think it shows that another title of this book could be A King is Coming because at the very end

they give that little genealogy. And that,

to me, is the whole reason why they wrote the book is to show you that through this line is
