Saul and David's rise and fall. and now we're on to Solomon.

And now we're starting with First Kings. And again, First and Second Books of Kings was one long

book, and they divided it because of the length of the scrolls. But it continues the storyline

right after First and Second Samuel. And it has a lot of similarities to first and second

Chronicles. Most biblical scholars think that Chronicles was edited after the fact and added in

a little more perspective and changed a few things and made a little more rose colored. But it's

always good to read the stories in both places. But I think for our podcast today, why don't we just stick with the text of kings?
