Some new information coming out in the Luigi Mangione case.

Prosecutors now say that they have evidence of a motive.

And I think this comes on the heels of his attorney,

Karen Friedman Ignifalo, who you see in this thumbnail up on the screen right now, they were filed a

motion to dismissal of the state charges. And in response to that, Manhattan District Attorney's

Office, Joel Siderman, a 40-year veteran prosecutor, who I've worked with actually is one of the best,

one of the very best prosecutors in the Manat and DA's office.

He swung back, basically, you know, no, that's not going to happen because we have a whole diary of his motive, of him saying why he

specifically targeted United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

The state, believe me, the state wants to prosecute this case.

And it's become clear to me that the defense doesn't want the state to prosecute this

because if the feds prosecute this and they say they fully intend to because it's a death

penalty case, the prosecution will basically have forever to keep putting this off.

And the state, they want to go.

They're ready to go.

You know, they want to go with this trial.

And they want to also charge terrorism.

But the state, New York State does not have the death penalty.

So the best they can do, or the most severe sentence if Luigi Mangione is found guilty after

trial, the most severe sentence he can get is life without parole, which is what the Manhattan
