It may be a bit of a challenging section today. Last week, we talked about forgiveness, which wasn't easy.

But today, in some ways, we will revisit that, and that I want to talk to you about loving like Jesus.

Loving people like Jesus loves them is a grand challenge of life. I find it easy

to love people who think like me or look like me or who like me or who are in some inner circle

that I trust, but it becomes more and more difficult to believe in the good of

others as those variables begin to change. And I'm here to tell you that I know that about myself,

and maybe we're in some ways conditioned to think that way. For whatever reasons or history or

expectations, if people don't look like us or sound like us or think like us,

the guard goes up. It can be difficult to be kind to strangers to both pray for and get involved

in the lives of people in need around us whom we do not know. And once that starts to cross

ethnic or nationality lines or all different kinds of comfort zone

barriers that we have, we sometimes miss the fact that Jesus loves whoever that is just as much

as Jesus loves you and me in the sense that he made all of us. He knows everything about each of us.

Jesus wants to see everyone come to the truth. There's no one too evil, indoctrinated too deeply, or too lost, that the gospel cannot reach them and change them.
