Welcome to thanks for being here. Very short pod that comes out every Sunday morning as

0:08.1

Sundays are such a good time to let go of the day to day and touch base with what matters,

0:12.9

what will matter and what will have mattered. The answer to that question for me is often

0:18.0

found in ceremonies I could watch strangers get married once a week and I'm even more affected

0:23.0

by funerals. Sitting in a service, taking in the story of one life, just another ordinary

0:29.6

person who they loved and who loved them. In a way, eulogies are about the most succinct

0:36.2

source of clarity and direction I can think of. So I ask listeners who have lost someone dear

0:42.5

to share their words and every week I'll read one eulogy here so that we don't forget

1:41.6

mom because well of course going to see Nathan and Fiddler on the Roof was the absolute perfect

1:46.8

thing to do with her on Mother's Day. Well, except for me be having Mark row her around Lake Shebo

1:53.1

for a whole afternoon, I get it. We all understand neither Shane nor I would ever be able to top that.

1:59.8

So Nathan was excellent and my mom loved the whole thing, loved it. So at the end,

2:07.2

we went into the lobby where the actors were and we waited in a kind of reception line to

2:11.0

congratulate Nathan and my mom of course gave him what my kids call her Bubby hug, which I'm sure

2:17.2

you've all experienced long and tight, long and tight with just the absolute full force of her love.
