I guess we should have assumed that Lorraine Nicholson will love the Playboy Club

because in a short

profile of her in Vanity Fair, she mentioned their best friends were Hugh Huffner's sons, and she would go

there because she would get pounds of peas and mashed potatoes. He eventually went on to write a terrific

piece about encountering life as a young person at the Playboard Mansion.

It really is this kind of awakening and the scales falling from your eyes.

I was thinking about your short film, which is also about a similar thing for people coming basically into adulthood.

And I wonder why that period seems to mean so much to you in terms of writing about it.

I think part of it is it's the part of life that I feel I can speak with authority about because I've lived it.

I'm still a relatively young person and it would feel strange to wrestle with themes that I don't understand, I guess.

And for me, I'm always looking for a level of truth in my work, I think.

I think more honesty than truth, because that's shorter about people being forced to be
