The hymn, Your Hand, O Lord, in days of old. It speaks there about Christ's conquering death, his triumph over ills and death. In the gospel reading, for this coming Sunday, the 18th Sunday after

Pentecost in Luke 17, we see Jesus doing that in real time. He is healing 10 lepers.

Tuesday afternoon, 7th of October. Pastor Sean Denser joins us to

look forward to Sunday morning, according to the three-year lectionary. He's director of worship for the Lutheran

Church, Missouri Synod. Sean, welcome back. Great to be back, Todd. This is one of those

proppers that usually finds two places in our lepronary, Luke 17, the 10 lepers cleanse. It's a Sunday like this and

when else? Well, we also hear it as the main option for a day of Thanksgiving, which I would

guess most congregations use on Thanksgiving Day or a lot of congregations also have a Wednesday evening service the night

before. The other option is the harvest festival, especially appropriate in places that are

farming communities. And then you get to hear the man who has plans to build his great barns and

you fool tonight. Your life is required of you. I think that's an excellent reading also. And

if everybody's tired of hearing about the 10 leopards, I think that's an excellent reading also. And if

everybody's tired of hearing about the ten lepers, I think it's all right. If maybe you swap that out.
